I happened across a post (on Buzzfeed of all places!) with 21 photos of Haight Ashbury in San Francisco in the 60s. Haight Ashbury was the mecca for hippies in the 60s, culminating in the Summer of Love in 1967.
I visited Haight Ashbury a couple of years ago, but I've always wondered what it would have been like to be there when it was all happening...
A couple of posts back I mentioned that I've (very belatedly) gotten into Loretta Lynn - aka the First Lady of country music. After listening to her music non-stop, I recently came across the biopic Coal Miner's Daughter, which charts the life of Loretta from poor coal miner's daughter to the biggest star in country music.
Loretta is played by the wonderful Sissy Spacek, along with a bunch of other recognizable faces. It's well worth checking out if you're a biopic fiend like I am!
